Jesus enters Jerusalem as the humble King, and the people praise Him as the Messiah. This passage reminds us that Jesus is King, and each of us must decide how we will respond to Him.

Luke 19:28–40 describes Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. As Jesus approaches the city, He sends His disciples to bring a colt that had never been ridden. This fulfills prophecy and shows that Jesus is the promised King, but not the kind of king people expected.

Instead of coming with power and armies, Jesus comes in humility and peace. The people spread their cloaks on the road and praise God, shouting blessings to the King who comes in the name of the Lord. They recognize that Jesus is the Messiah and celebrate His arrival.

However, the Pharisees tell Jesus to rebuke the crowd. They do not want Him to be called King. Jesus responds by saying that if the people were silent, the stones themselves would cry out. This shows that Jesus truly is King whether people accept Him or not.

The main lesson from this passage is that every person must decide how they will respond to Jesus:

  • Some praised Him
  • Some ignored Him
  • Some rejected Him

Today, we are asked the same question: Will we recognize Jesus as our King?

Jesus did not come to conquer nations but to conquer sin and save people. He came in humility first, but one day He will return in glory.
